How licensing works at Profit by Faith — device limits, activation, transfers, billing, and what to do if something goes sideways.
How Licensing Works
Each PBF product (Cornerstone, Signal Analyzer) ties to your account email. When you install the indicator, it generates a unique fingerprint for your machine + product combination and registers it with our licensing server. The indicator polls for verification every 15 minutes — as long as your license is active, signals flow.
- Default device limit: 2 devices per product license
- License check interval: every 15 minutes (and on chart load)
- Fingerprint: hashed from machine ID + product name. Different products on the same PC count as separate devices.
- Local cache: last verification stored at
%APPDATA%\PBF\session-{product}.dat— survives reboots so you don't re-activate on every NT8 launch
Activating a New Device
Step 1 — Load the indicator
Add PBFSignalAnalyzerV5Beta or PBFCornerstone to a chart. If the device isn't activated, NT8 outputs:
[ProductName] Device not activated. Opening browser to https://profitbyfaith.com/activate
Step 2 — Approve in browser
Your default browser opens the activation page. Sign in if you aren't already. You'll see your fingerprint and product. Click Approve this device.
Step 3 — Return to NT8
The indicator polls for verification every few seconds. Within 15 seconds you'll see:

Managing Your Devices
Visit your account page to see all currently bound devices for each product. Each row shows:
- Device label (optional, set during approval)
- Fingerprint preview (first 8 + last 4 chars)
- First seen / last seen timestamps
- IP geo-location (country)
- Revoke button
Transferring License to a New PC
If you've reached your device limit and need to add a new machine:
- Go to /account and click Revoke next to the old/decommissioned device
- Install the indicator on the new PC and load it on a chart
- Approve the activation in your browser as usual
Purchases & Billing
How do I pay?
Stripe handles checkout. Choose your product on the /pricing page — indicators are one-time purchases (pay once, own it, free updates), not subscriptions. The only recurring option is the optional Hosted VPS ($99/mo).
Where do I manage billing?
One-time purchases don't renew, so there's nothing to manage. For the optional Hosted VPS, the Stripe Customer Portal is linked from your account page (appears once Stripe live-mode is enabled) — update card, view invoices, or cancel there.
Do my indicators ever expire?
No. A one-time purchase is yours to keep — the license stays active and signals keep flowing, with free updates. The optional Hosted VPS is the only thing that bills monthly; if it lapses, only the hosted server stops — your owned indicators are unaffected.

Troubleshooting
"Activation timed out" in NT8
The browser approval didn't complete in time. Make sure you clicked Approve this device in the browser. Reload the indicator on the chart to retry. If your browser didn't open, check your default browser settings.
"License BLOCKED" after activation
Could be an entitlement issue (check /account for license status) or a stale local cache. Try deleting %APPDATA%\PBF\session-{product}.dat and reloading the indicator.
"No license found for this product"
Your account exists but doesn't have an entitlement for that product. Visit /pricing to purchase.
"Max devices reached"
You've hit your 2-device limit. Go to /account and revoke an old device to free a slot.
